Is winged eyeliner for YOU?
Makeup, we’ve all got our routines down… however the MOST frequent question I’m asked by my clients, is how to master winged eyeliner?! Because let’s face it, eyeliner is definetly the hardest part of makeup. But the real question we should all be asking is; will winged eyeliner suit me?
Many of the ladies I’ve taught believed one eyeliner design suited all but that is NOT the case at all! There is eyeliner for big eyes, eyeliner for small eyes and every shape in between!
Have you been wondering why that ‘simple’ YouTube tutorial never quite works out for you? Probably because the person in the video has a different shaped eye to you!
Knowing your eye shape is the first step on perfecting the best eyeliner look for you.
Now, for those of you with almond eyes, rejoice! As it is the easiest eye shape to apply eyeliner to! Not to mention the same shape as supermodel Kendall Jenner. Apply thick, thin or wing you’ll suit them all.
For upturned eyes, like actress Angelina Jolie’s, I recommend a thinner line with a tiny wing that connects to a little liner under the eye.
Downturned eyes, like Anne Hathaway’s, should start applying liner on the inner corner thin, getting thicker as you push the wing out. Aim to extend the wing a little past your eye shape and angle it upwards to lift your eye.
Hooded eyes suit a thicker liner starting from the inner corner of the eye and an extended wing slightly past your eye shape as seen on Jennifer Anderson.
Round eyes, will suit more of a cat eye look, elongating the eyes with a triangle shaped wing. Pop superstar Katy Perry is famous for rocking cat eyed wings.
