TAKING BACK BEAUTY…NATURALLY!
With the likes of Kim Kardashian listing a whopping 40 products she uses on her skin daily, we’re not surprised many women are in the midst of a ‘beauty backlash.’ More women today are dismissing the standards being set by their rich counterparts, and are giving up on makeup all together.
“Aussie women are getting deflated by the elaborate looks which are considered normal,” says Crystal Dawson, Founder of beauty education company, Glam Affair. “People tell me all the time how difficult it is to keep up with what they see in the glossy mags or the barrage of You Tube makeup tutorials.”
“Often I see them rocking the no-makeup look because they’re just too darn tired, stressed, busy, wary of harming their skin, or all of the above to compete in that arena.”
While this is great for some, if you’re not feeling your best, then what’s the solution?
Crystal is working with women in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast to take back their natural beauty through makeup education.
This leading beauty mentor is helping busy women by offering them the chance to work with incredible makeup artists to achieve a go-to look using quality mineral make-up. The aim is to help them achieve a great look on the run which can be perfected and executed in minutes.
“Keeping a simple, easy and quick routine helps us feel amazing about ourselves, lifts our mood and is a great guilty pleasure. Our makeup lasts all day, it can be worn while exercising, so it really is a set and forget thing,” Crystal says.
The emphasis in Glam Affair’s makeup classes are on real beauty for real women, using natural, long-lasting mineral products made in Australia, which do not harm the skin or animals.
“Our ethos is one of empowering women of all ages to feel beautiful just as they are. We help them to uncover a makeup routine which fits in with their lifestyle and personality, and one which compliments their features and colouring, whether they have 5 minutes or 50 minutes to do their makeup.”
Crystal says we are constantly bombarded with the idea of what we should all look like and this is further highlighted with the usage of social media, but she says even as a trained make-up professional she doesn’t have hours to spend perfecting highlighting and contouring every morning.
“I have two children, and I have school runs, house work and running a business to attend to, so I will do a 5-minute face many days of the week,” she adds.
So if you’d like to take back your beauty, on your terms, then get educated about your best makeup.
