Hand up here who has one older than 4 months???? Come on be honest.
Did you know Mascara is actually the dirtiest makeup product that women own? That the moment you start using it, it’s actually covered in bacteria and basically breading away in that warm dark environment.
When you use mascara from the wand its pushes all the bacteria you have on your eyelashes right through the actual product. These little nasty’s can cause sties, serious eye infections and even vision loss.
Most mascara’s also do have things like parabans, Synthetic dyes, Aluminum powders and even Formaldehyde! Just remember when you are choosing a mascara that these chemicals can cause their own lot of health issues and are not recommended for those with sensitive skin or eyes for that matter!
Mascara’s should be replaced every 4 months from the time you open the bottle, not when you purchase them. So if you see your favorite mascara on sale, get a few at a time and store them in the fridge till you are ready to open and use them.
Now that I have absolutely (hopefully) shocked you, let’s talk about all the different mascaras and what’s best for you?
I myself have the worlds shortest eyelashes, so I always stick with a fiber lash mascara.
Fiber lash mascaras are the perfect way to add volume and lengthen the lashes without spending load’s of money and time. Ill be honest I’m not a fan off the two step types. 1) because its an extra time consuming step and 2) because they cost more cash!
Don’t get caught up in all the fancy brush head types either, mostly they are just marketing ploys and do nothing to your lash a stock standard brush wouldn’t do.
The reason a mascara brush head has a skinner tip is so you can get right into the inner corners and the outer corners of your lashes. These tiny lashes her open the eye to so don’t miss these! No point only covering half the lashes you own.
In my teachings I have had many women tell me they are scared to do the bottom lashes as they feel they look over done! While I personally would kill for a good set of lashes, if you lashes are on the longer side, you can always opt out of doing the bottom HOWEVER when your doing evening makeup get that mascara on! The eye will look undone in evening makeup if you don’t “finish” the look. You can always skip that step with your daytime makeup.
Finally when applying mascara the easiest way to get it onto your lashes is to pop it as close to the lash line as possible and make tiny sideways movements back and forth to get right into all the little lashes. Then simply sweep out. This will cover everything from the base of the lash to the tip. If you only cover the ends of your lashes you end up weighing them down and that’s not the effect your after.
So why not below tell me what your favourite mascara is and why over on our Happy Health Glam Tribe link in below photos
