Eating your way to Clear Skin
A couple of weeks ago you might have read our blog on achieving flawless skin even during breakouts. Well in this blog we are going to tell you how to EAT your way to clear skin, yes you heard right… we are talking FOOD.
Strawberries, citrus fruits, red peppers and broccoli have been proven to promote a healthy complexion. Why?! Because they are rich in Vitamin C, responsible for the production of collagen – the skin’s natural support structure!
Leafy Greens, did you really think you could avoid them? Leafy greens are full of antioxidants that promote a fresh complexion.
WATER, while its not food, it is THE most beneficial contribution to your skin health. Avoiding dryness, dehydration and enabling that beautiful dewy look.
Salmon, is full of Omega-3 fatty acids working to combat inflammation and reduce wrinkles! The recommended serving of fish is twice a week.
WINE, YES WINE! Don’t get too excited, just one glass (preferably red) a day is recommended to absorb the polyphenols and antioxidants that fight skin-damaging radicals.
Sunflower seeds and nuts, loaded with Vitamin E to aid in protecting your skin from sun damage and dehydration.
Lean meats, poultry and oysters, promote that much desired youthful glow. You want to aim for a palm-sized serving of meat/poultry or three oysters per day to maximise your intake of zine and iron. Both of which are imperative for healthy skin function.
And of course, the foods to AVOID…
Its probably no surprise that the primary foods recommended to avoid are those high in processed sugars. Its also suggested that milk contributes to break outs and spicy foods are known to aggravate and inflame sensitive skin.
