One of the WORST parts of Winter is the effect it has on your skin; drying it out causing itchiness and flaking.
Let’s face it – no one likes dry skin but for many of us it’s a given in Winter.
But it doesn’t have to be that way! Banish dry, itchy skin this Winter with these hot tips… (pun intended)
Keeping skin well hydrated has been proven time and time again as the number one solution to overcoming dry skin. The easiest way to do this… drink water! The recommended amount of water a day for women is eight cups and ten for men.
Then moisturise, moisturise, MOISTURISE! Morning and night with a natural moisturiser to keep your skin happy. You may even like to consider carrying a hand moisturiser in your handbag for on the go.
Your exfoliating glove is your friend! Exfoliate once a week to counteract the build-up of dead skin cells. Follow this with a hydrating mask that will infuse your skin with moisture and help soothe any stinging or itchiness.
Speaking of shower activities, avoid the temptation of a super-hot shower in Winter. Keep the temperature warm and limit showers to 5-10 minutes max.
Your lips cop a lot of wind flow throughout the cold season, overcome chapped lips by carrying a lip balm or one of our super hydrating lippys with you EVERYWHERE and apply as frequently as possible.
For those with severe dry skin Omega-3 can help treat your skin from the inside out!
You may even like to use a humidifier to replace the moisture lost from the air.
